We offer Day and Weekend Classes for beginners to quickly learn camera usage, settings, lighting, and composition. Classes include handouts, discussions, and private instruction, with assignments to track progress. We recommend two classes, with a third focused on computer skills and workflow in digital imaging. These cost-effective classes are an excellent starting point for diving into photography basics.

Beginners Classes
We offer Day and Weekend workshops for beginners, one on one... to quickly learn camera use, including settings, light variables, and composition. Participants receive handouts, discussions, and hands-on shooting experience with your coach. In two-day workshops, attendees will shoot together and delve into image processing on the computer, focusing on organization, software choices and workflow. This is an excellent option for a weekend dedicated to photography.
We provide one-on-one photography coaching for beginners, focusing on detailed understanding of cameras and gear. Coaching occurs over 4 or more Coaching sessions, including homework and phone support.
Sessions cover camera basics, composition, exposure, and white balance, followed by hands-on shooting together. We'll also teach image processing techniques and workflows for organizing photos. This approach is ideal for those considering a career in photography.

Beginning Photography Courses
We offer Beginning Photography Courses to help you navigate the complexities of photography. We provide workshops for various types of people photography, including headshots, portraits, and weddings. Each genre requires distinct styles and techniques tailored to the subject's needs. Photographing People covers essential gear for this genre of photography, including what’s necessary, budget-friendly acquisition, and packing for shoots, emphasizing simplicity to keep focus on the subject - the model or executive. For deeper knowledge on studio shooting and lighting, coaching sessions are available. As photographers, our role is to create appealing images for aspiring models and subjects. Vicki Stanwycks offers personal coaching to enhance your images and assist in developing your portfolio and promotional materials over several sessions.

Creative Photography
We discuss motivations, several rules of composition, color, Black and white, gear, tripods, lenses, digital darkroom must haves, and the pros and cons of too much or too little with regards to gear and with the computer.
This is a fun workshop where we learn and create images that are print worthy for art, decoration, or social media. Techniques learned in this workshop will prove more than useful for as long as you shoot....
Understanding Exposure
Light and Shadow are the basis for creating images with any camera, we explore the characteristics of each in depth. It could change the way you see and how you shoot. We go over aspects of light and teach you how to get a good exposure in all kinds of light and weather. Controls on your camera effect how the camera sees your image. We will go in-depth about light, color balance and techniques

Black & White Classes
Timeless images of Black and White create a visual sophistication that commands attention. Black and white images capture our attention because color must be imagined on a subliminal level. We work on shooting techniques, and In this workshop we get into the digital and technological aspects of black and white, tonal values of black and white and the psychological aspects of perception in black and white.
